Guitar-shaped Colonial knife

Post by woodz4561 »

We have run across what we feel is a very unique looking Colonial knife. Could someone help us figure out if it is really unique and/or what the possible value of this knife is.

It is a guitar-shaped folding, single blade knife. On the front at what would be the bottom of the guitar is a circle of what may be mother of pearl (or something that looks like it). On the back of the knife casing is this same mother of pearl finish that cover what would be the entire back of the guitar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Pam & Jerry :D

Welcome!

Some properly resized pictures (50 KB or less) would probably be helpful. ::tu::

I will say Colonial has produced many thousands of novelty type knives...Stars of TV, car shapes, bowling pin shaped, etc.

You could also contact them, if you so desire.

Again, welcome to AAPK.

AYE! Crazy runneth over in the knifer community. Although it's not a requirement, it sure HELPS!

Hi Brian, we could use an Emoticon for crazy. Sure fits with some of the bidding on fakes we've seen lately. 8)

I own one of these knives you speak of. Mine has Elvis on it. I have seen another on E-Bay with Patsy Cline image on the circle part.

If I recall correctly the Elvis One's I have seen on E-Bay sold from $9-$20.
That Patsy Cline one I think sold for $50ish dollars. I have it wrote down at home. (I think they kind of fudged their advertisement) but I heard Colonial made these knives in the 60's and 70's.

I will post the one I have up, but I am fairly certain it is the same knife.
