Spent 3 years at Eielson AFB, a tad southeast of Fairbanks, back in the late 60s. Dad was in the Air Force and I was about just starting 1st grade. Always wanted to get stationed there while I was in..
*sigh* never got there. Oh, well. Only wish I could remember more of our time there.

Grouse! Yay!
About fifteen years ago, I actually did the Grouse Grind. It’s a big hike all the way up the mountain. Kind of a Vancouver rite of passage. Anyway, I made it up. At the time, if you climbed up, you could take the gondola down for five bucks. Quite the experience.

Steve - I really like that spider web photo! I try to just slow down and admire the tiny things in nature that make the world so beautiful. I think some folks never even realize beauty that is right under their feet.

Great photo Steve! There is so much to see if we just take the time. That's what my brother is trying to is with his photo's, is show us the majesty of God's creation and all the wonderful beauty he has provided us.

Spider webs are works of art but not to the spider. It is just a tool so he (she) can eat. We are like them with pocket knives. To some they are a work of art and to others just a tool. But the picture of the tool is a work of art Steve.

Great pictures y'all! Texas definitely has some great sunrises and sunsets. Most places outside of the cities have a lot of sky.

Nice spider web Steve. This is the best time of year for spider webs. We have some here that weave elaborate webs at night but take them down by morning. You can hardly walk under a tree at night without encountering one but by morning they're gone. Gonna have to do some research to learn what kind of spider does that.

My brother and his wife have had a lot of great weather for traveling, hiking and other fun things, but not every day was good. That first picture took he a long time to get just the right light and settings he said.
