I snapped a shot and posted it for your viewing pleasure. Thanks to some arthritis and a lingering injury to my left hand, I don't play as much (or as well) as I used to. After the party yesterday my left hand and fingers are stiff and sore....but we had a great time and the music was fantastic.Steve Warden wrote:Nice!!Sasquach wrote:Goin' to a party this afternoon and I'll be carrying these two yeller Cases and my six string axe.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I just inherited my first, (not shell handled) Barlow. I believe it is a Remington RB44 and based on the tang stamp of the master blade I believe it is in the 1933-1935 range. Please correct me if I am wrong.
St. John Chapter 1
...12 But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God...

These knives were once shiny and bold
Now they're rusty, thin and old
They did their service with Nary a complaint
From slicing an apple to scraping paint
They should be retired to the drawer to rest
But at big homer's house they're put to the test.

Came home from 5 days of camping to find my new GEC #29 grits with butter and molasses knife delivered. First acrylic scaled knife for me, like the pattern and warming up to the knife. Carried it with an old bone handled Remington that still snaps like new.

Good looking old Remington, Greg. I like it. And same for your #72 David.
A couple of Queens that I think look like they were made to go together. The Barlow was made in the DFC days, 2012-2018, the Toothpick, before that. 'Bought all I know.

Today, Tobacco Bone Rough Rider Cotton Sampler. Sharp out of the box, but after a light touch up with a strop, razor sharp. Really nice little knife, and a fantastic skinner.

David is that one of the elusive black bone 72's? The jigging sure looks like it. But don't get your expectations us as I'm no expert.DM11 wrote:Camillus 72 and BRK Essential

Maybe from the mid 1990s? (I know less than doglegg, though.) Sure looks nice anyway.doglegg wrote:David is that one of the elusive black bone 72's? The jigging sure looks like it. But don't get your expectations us as I'm no expert.DM11 wrote:Camillus 72 and BRK Essential![]()

Per Jerry, they put out 3 in the 90's, 1 the anniversary knife with ducks flying, one the ole smoky and then one unmarked, all with black bone handles. The jigging on that one looks like that on the bone ones issued. A very elusive and desirable knife, maybe Jerry will be along and comment.geocash wrote:Maybe from the mid 1990s? Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks for the pic. N W NY. Having looked at it and the anniversary model the jigging seeming to be a little different that the standard Delrin handles. Or it might be my imagination. I have the Ole Smoky and Anniversary one but not the plain one. Here is a pic of the anniversary model.New_Windsor_NY wrote:Here's the Camillus Ole Smoky.doglegg wrote:Per Jerry, they put out 3 in the 90's, 1 the anniversary knife with ducks flying, one the ole smoky and then one unmarked, all with black bone handles. Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I saw a duck version on eBay but the seller wanted almost $300. I'm crazy, not insane. I'm still looking for that one and the plain one. I'm glad you have the duck version.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I started looking for a Camillus 72 just last fall after readying so many good things about it here on AAPK (thanks). I wanted bone & at the time didn't realize this one was rather uncommon. Don't understand why, but I got it for $42.35 on ebay. I feel like I just lucked up.
