G. Schrade pre-patent (before 9-21-1926) wirejack.
This is not an EDC for me, it’s just that a friend up at work wanted to see it. From what I’ve read a guy (Glen Davis) who researched these types of knives said it is very rare and he had only ever seen two with this particular tang stamp.

Thanks! ::handshake:: That's the knife which got me hooked on Barlows and, ultimately, traditional folders. Anton Wingen Jr. out of Solingen, guesstimated 1950s or early 60s. It's got a weird obtuse half stop (stops at about 95-100 degrees) and the pins are unfinished but it's still one of my favorites and has never left my EDC pile. Takes a wicked edge in minutes, too.

Today for Wooden Wednesday, GEC and Schrade.

Gentlemen, I’m sorry, but I have a little, tiny, complaint.
The EDC’s, and pretty much every other knife on here, are cool and nice to look at and some of ‘em are downright droolicious, but...

I don’t have a clue what they are. ::shrug::

You see, having just dipped a toe into the Wonderful World Of Knives, I’m still learning. Even the knives considered such obvious classics that they need no explanation, need explaining to me!

So, for the benefit of me and the rest of the clueless, would you please say what the knife is when you post it? Please and thanks! ::tu::

Ann, I made the same request several years ago.
No doubt it was made before I made it.
Knives still get posted with no identification.
The reply to my request, "Just ask. Folks love to talk about their knives and are more than willing to answer questions."
Guess they figure it saves them time on the post to not put any info, and saves time by not having to answer if no one asks.

A dandy Brit, a couple of elderly gentlemen and some fabulous bones. This is starting out as a great page. Like them all for their own special qualities. ::nod:: ::tu::

zoogirl, well said. I have been collecting knives since i was given my first knife over 50 years ago. But we have a very limited retail supply outlet here in Australia. I am an old man new to computers and the internet. Being a new member to the forum it has opened my eyes to the knife collecting world, i am agog at the styles and designs and how many knife manufactures are out there, current and defunct. I see your point, because i feel like i am new to the Wonderful World Of Knives. I have only last week worked my way around posting pictures on the forum, so i will endeavor to place a description of all knives i post in the future. Have a good weekend. :) ::tu::

IT IS THIS BIG, the frenzy to scramble to get one of these knives. A Charlie Campagna, Waynorth Cutlery, Jigged Bone, Lamb Foot. Impossible to purchase over here, but through the kindness of a friend was able to get my hands on one. Very, Very, grateful. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Cudgee, that is just wonderful, both the knife and the kind friend!
I’ll probably not be able to afford a Waynorth knife, although Christmas and birthdays have been rather ‘sharp’ lately! I could get it at the source too.
I have the great pleasure of having Charlie as a regular at our monthly knifers breakfast. He is as advertised. :)
Enjoy your treasure, Cudgee!

Cudgee, nice score! Carry it well and enjoy!

Chris, I LOVE that Robeson!

I'm still carrying my new Buck 112 LT. I've been giving it a work out. It is performing very well and my misgivings about the handle are gradually disappearing. The blade is standard Buck quality, it takes a razor sharp edge and holds it well. Today I decided to accessorize fashionably and teamed it up with my watch pocket Buck 309...
