Those are some beauties Mark. I especially like the CC, fantastic jigging and bone color. The bison shield is nice as well. Also like the smaller secondary blade, would that pattern be called a trapper w/a pen? Nice acquisitions all around. ::tu::

It’s a 73 pattern which is referred to as a Scout knife. Fancy name for a Trapper if you ask me. This one differs from the usual Scout which has two equal length blades, I much prefer this smaller secondary blade.
I’m very impressed with the gunstock jigging on this Cripple Creek. Plus I’m very taken with amber bone and amber bone stag.

Great pattern, I too like the smaller secondary blade. Thanks for the info, beautiful knife. ::tu::

Nice knives you got there. I like how they got the 72 Stamp on em. Thats my birth year so I think I might have to get myself one or two of them some day. Dumb question. The 72 refers to the pattern, not the year of production right? Just wondering.

Definitely the pattern #. But I'm pretty sure that "some" 72's were manufactured in 1972.

Mark, are your three #93 knives: jigged bone, mammoth & desert ironwood ? The wood handle knife is a knock-out beauty !
A "trapper" knife by definition has 2 full length blades. Same frame with 1 full length and 1 shorter blade = ? i call them "Trapper Jack" but this is not an 'official' name. Other than it being a jack knife i don't know what the generally accepted name is.

I posted these on another thread and just forgot to mention what they are. The Northwoods are jigged Siena bone, Appaloosa bone and Cocobolo.
Trapper Jack makes sense to me to call it that.

I must say, I really like the brown one. It has something the pulls me in like a moth to light. May I ask you what do you do when 1 blade is missing a tipp. Sharpen it to a point or leave it as is? Or would you look for another blade and change it? Just curious. ::shrug::

I know nothing about knife restoration/repair. I just clean them up if I can and leave them in whatever physical condition they may be in. I'm sure there are people on this site who would either re-shape or even replace the blade. The tip of mine isn't that bad so I might try to make it look a little better (re-shape).

These 5 knives became my possessions today.
Klein & Son, Chicago - Camillus - Colonial - Camillus - Imperial Scout.
All are in very good condition. The Imperial needs a cleaning. I will post the updated
pictures in the "proper" forums/threads.

Thank you guys. They have been "cleaned" and are in their appropriate forums. I don't know where the Klein should go.
More coming in the next few days to a week!

Another from the bottom of the bay. Big ole Colonial shell handle cattle knife.
20190801_215222.jpg
didn't care much for the black handles and I had a donor knife that had a broken blade so I change them out. Ilike it much better now.
