ANY OTHERS?

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

ANY OTHERS?

Post by OSCAR »

Did Camillus make any other steel handle knives of this type or were there other patterns? If so, what were they called? I have mint military, the two Dira-Tools on sides, and What-A-Knife on bottom. All are unused, un sharpened and not carried. If others are out there, I’d like to get them. Thanks. I have many Camillus with bone and some with Delrin handles, but obviously, I’d never be able to have a complete set of those.
Thanks.

One time on eBay, I do recall seeing one sold with blade, saw, and Phillips. Only one I have ever seen. Must have been a parts bin special, end-of-days, or threw together with surplus parts by a third party post-2008. Maybe even a prototype, but I highly doubt it.

Thanks Cody. I’d be interested to find it BUT only if it’s a Camillus and not a Frankenknife.
I’ve looked for years and these are the only Camillus I’ve seen of this style. Not pretty but ya can’t kill them.

Camillus did make a number of the Dura tool knives with red white and blue paint on them. Kind of a flag motif paint job.

I have the full set. I think. I’ll look later to see what you are missing. The painted flag ones I think were all made after 9/11 for a year or so.

Thanks for the info. I’d like to find the painted ones, but hard to do a search if ya don’t know what they’re called. I’ll try a search for painted dura tool. Thanks again. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Eveled. Camillus made more knives for others than they did under their own label. Those appear to be Camillus for sure.

I’ve never seen one like it. So my guess is it was pieces together. But I could be wrong

I’ve been told the What-A-Knife were sold by a company that made the What-A-Saw

I found one on sale now at E-Bay. But as much as I value Camillus, I think this is either extremely rare or way overpriced.

Oscar in your picture your 4 blade knife looks like it has a grind line. Are you sure it’s a Camillus? The only one I have like that is a Western.

Are you limiting yourself to just Camillus?

Eveled...
Mine has a Camillus tang stamp so I guess it’s a Camillus. While I don’t limit my collection to the one brand, I have been a long time Camillus fan. Did you see this?

I did see that. He’s mighty proud of it. It is the complete package.

It kind of bothered me when I realized they came out after 9/11. Like Camillus was cashing in on the attack. There were flags everywhere for a year or so.

You are off to a good start. Happy hunting. If you come across one I don’t have. Please let me know.
