Help me identify???

I just joined in...
Could anyone please identify this piece for me..? I thought its a Sheffield piece?
However I'm quite new so I could use some help, may be I'm totally wrong.
I am not sure if its quite a bargain...

A couple guys should be along that are pretty familiar with Sheffield and may be able to offer help. Sure has a lot tools on it - I'm sure someone will pick up on it.

Hi. Welcome to the site and great looking knife. It looks like a Sheffield knife from the latter 1800s in my opinion. Hoof pick, carriage key, button hook attachemnts were associated with that time. I couldn't possibly say which company made it. Is that 1/2 of a scissors at the 12.00 position on the left side? It appears that there were tweezers and pricker attachments at one time in the slots at the end of the handle. Thanks for showing it. s-k

Are those really slots for tweezers and pricker/toothpick on a knife that old..?

Anyone knows who was the first to put tweezers and toothpick in a folding knife, and when?

I don't know the exact answer to the question regarding the first tweezers/prickers slotted into handles. In Tweedale's Sheffield Knife book there is a drawing of a Wostenholm sportsman's knife with these attachments dated 1866. I think maybe a little earlier then that. Tweezers and tooth picks (metal) were introduced to Swiss Army knives in 1902. s-k

That is a nice old horsemans knife,I'm thinking that one looks German made,most of the Sheffield knives that I've seen don't have the smooth scales like that.I can't believe that it wouldn't be marked,it would be on the master blade and you'll probably need a good magnifying glass or a jewelers loupe to see it.

Looks to be a fair amount of damage and wear, that plus no makers mark, only my opinion but I would be reluctant to part with that much for it. Still, collecting is a personal thing, if you really want it bad and will enjoy owning it, then you know if you can afford it!
