Re: It's In The Mail
Won this last night, not mailed yet. Unlike my other Geo Schrade Hawkbill Pruner, which had advertising lightly etched on each side of the blade, this one appears to have the exact same advertising, but engraved/stamped not etched. The pictures are the sellers. This should clean-up nicely. I will post the "after" pictures in the "wirejacks" thread in the "Knife Lore" forum.

Re: It's In The Mail
Really liking that Wirejack hawkbill! Quite a few things, actually.
I was gifted a Leatherman Rebar. A used one, but in good shape. Stock photo.
Gerber MP600 Sight Tool. Got it for under $20, but forgot to notice the scraper tool was broken. . I'm on the fence about just using it to modify to my needs (fix the broken scraper by replacing it with something else, switch out the M4/M16 sight tool for the jigsaw blade holder) or whether to send it off to Gerber for replacement. My main draw was its blade and very long Phillips screwdriver, which are exclusive.
A busted 1987 Case Slimline Trapper. A backspring has been broken. I bid on it, as I was nearly certain my bid would win a Western Peanut the seller had (which I didn't), and I threw in a bid on this knife since it was only a dollar. I didn't win the Peanut. Still, with shipping, I have less than $5 in it. I was thinking having it customized with some nice bone and paring it down to being a one-blade knife, but will Case fix it?

Re: It's In The Mail
Cody, a two blade Case Slim Jim is a nice knife, I have one and like it a lot. I do believe Case will fix it - if not under warranty then for a price. I'm not sure they even make a two bladed version anymore. OH
Ps I couldn't stand it anymore and ordered a Buck 212 which are out now as limited runs by several distributors in different variations. I just ordered mine in the basic Buck 100 series style from Copper & Clad (to match my collection of Buck 100 fixed blades). I should have it this coming Friday.

This here Hammer Brand auto is in the mail to me.
Blade looks pretty good... maybe some rust pits but still, it's a US auto. Seller says it doesn't work. We will just have to see about that.

Re: It's In The Mail
I'm filing this under "Oops". But at least I didn't spend much on it. I knew I was watching this Col. Littleton, but forgot I had bid on it. Checking my email, I noticed I had won the auction on it; for under $10 shipped. It looks like it has never been carried or used. Col. Littleton wants almost $50 for these, and seeing as they are a Bear and Sons product, that's too much. I hope this one's of decent quality. The Bear items in my collection have been hit or miss--some stuff almost dangerous (I did have a lock fail because of their silly lever design on a Bear Jaws that cut me pretty bad), but the stuff they make for other companies is typically passable.
At 2 1/4" closed, it will make a great watch pocket knife. And legal pretty much all over the US.

I just found me another Old Timer variant.....
The Old Crafty 9547...
Sure looks like an unusual grind on the blade above the pull. I thought it was an "owner modification" but it is on both sides of the blade and I have seen a pic of another with the same grind. COOL

Won this today, should be in the mail to me on Monday. A Camillus advertising print block for a 1/2 dozen, No. P2, sheepfoot paring knives. Will fit in nicely with my other Camillus print blocks. Pictures are the seller's. I will update the pictures and post them in the Camillus forum when I get it.

That printer's block is a nice find!
You gonna ink it up and make some labels?

I might. I have to do some research to find out what kind of ink pad to use.Meridian_Mike wrote:That printer's block is a nice find!

I would like to use an ink that cleans off easily as I am going to build some kind of display for these blocks
and I want them to be "clean."

Re: It's In The Mail
Just purchased this knife, it "should" be in the mail on Monday. I know it's a Camillus 72 clone, but not which company made it.
Here is the title in the ad for the knife: "Vintage Hollinger Fremont OH, 2 Blade Serpentine Pattern Pocket Knife."
Here is the seller's description of the knife: "Original pocket knife, good condition."
The seller assured me that the pictures are of the "correct" knife, but didn't change the title.
The following pictures are the seller's. I will post my pictures in the Camillus forum (click here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=62956#p746091) when I receive the knife and "clean" it up a bit.

With those orange handles, Ulster 63 or Sears 9494 made by Ulster would be my guess.
Post it in the 72 thread.

Thanks, computer literacy is not exactly my forte' , just finding my way. The covers on the knife are old Oak. The pictures do not do it justice, feels beautiful in the hand. Have a great day and week.
