Yes, I did this one a while back.

It's free hand artwork - scratching/stippling and ink. I sent the knife and an old whale tooth to Kaleb to have the scales done and then I sent it off to a scrimshander who specializes in 'micro-scrimshaw.' It's not easy to capture in a photo but the scale and detail is unbelievable. The artist works with a microscope.

Sidenote on the Middletown Plant image: of the 3 Schrade factories, Middletown is the only one still standing. I pulled this image from Google maps. When Schrade was there the massive building was a cooperative with several businesses operating and most of it is gone now, but the Schrade section (or part of it anyway) is still standing. Today it houses an ethnic hair products supplier.

Geeeee Whizzzz.... That is some AMAZING scrim work. I have done some on cow horn but NEVER to that extent.

Thanks all. I quite agree, the artist (Bob) is really talented. I'll post a link to his site - I'm sure he wouldn't mind. There are lots of great knife pics but I'm partial to the guitar work he's got on there. I think Bob would say he was most proud of having his work featured in Mad Magazine. Dale - this fella is up in your neck of the woods, maybe you've seen some of the knives he has worked on before?

Here are a couple 194OT's that I customized with some stag from the old Henckels factory.

This is an LB-7 I made for my friend Randy in Texas. He's is an AAPK member, but doesn't post much anymore.

This is one I made yesterday, the frame in the saw blade of the 197OT is a locking single blade saw.

It has the name of the company I got the scales from.
That is dyed bone but I am not exactly happy with the pile side scale... It doesn't look the same as this side.
