Hi Lenny. On page 119 of "Antique American Switchblades" by Mark Erickson there's a pic of a knife just like this. Schrade Cutllery Co. Model # 7444X mint value $450. Knife should be 2/78 in. long. Nice knife, I've always wanted one. Otto

Re: Schrade Switchblade Pocket Knife
Nice knife! I see these "Safety Push Button" knives listed on Ebay on a fairly regular basis, although there is something that can trigger Ebay to pull the listing. I think "safety knife" works better than switchblade. There are enthusiastic collectors and the market for fuctional examples is great. Even the broken ones, or ones with problems sell for a good price. What is the closed length of that dandy knife?

Re: Schrade Switchblade Pocket Knife
I am new to this forum and thought I might add to your discussion.
I have one of these Switchblade pocket knives and the covers/handles are done in sterling silver. They are worn however, it's still a pretty inpressive little knife. Any idea of a value?
Tom

Re: Schrade Switchblade Pocket Knife
Here is some information from my book The collectors Guide to Switchblade Knives. Also a couple of pics from my CD. Value of course varies. with condition and retail or wholesale ( most dealers will quote wholesale when buying. My guide shows the then 2001 mint price as well as the condition and estimated price of the one in the book. This is so that you can figure by comparison where the condition of yours puts it. I included a pic of the 3,3/8" version as well as the 2,7/8". The smaller of these in this material was one of the few that they made in Stainless marked SS. They also made them in carbon which yours is but I believe yours is 3,3/8 they also made these in 3,3/4" however rarely with this pattern handle material. ( There were some ). I hope this helps please advise if I can assist further. LT PS I also added some pics from the Russell reprint of the Schrade catalogue to give you a little more insight on these. PPS there were other similar variations on blades ect but this should help some. PPPS Your knife looks like middle of the road condition for these.
