I still don’t know for sure what my old knife was. I think there scales were bone, a very dark reddish brown. It may have said premier stock on the tang. It wasn’t too big, about the size of this one. I remember the blades being a clip, spey and very small pen. The only reason I had it is that I borrowed it off my dad so often, he finally stopped asking for it back!
Thanks. There was no way I could have hung onto every knife I had when I was young. Swapping was the way to have something else. I just wish I had at least kept some kind of record of what all I had. It's not that the list would be so long but that it was so long ago. It would be interesting to know.

Buck 110LT "Shield" (SFO for Silver Knights Blades) and a Sebertech/Sebertool M4. Gets what I need done without taking up a ton of weight. As I took up a Buck 110 challenge on another board, my primaries will be 110s for the rest of July. Thinking about getting a Slim Select in blue for the purpose of that.

Killer barn shot cody, love the livestock. Nice horns on those babies, ever use them for knife handles? Nice pic all around.

Thanks. What horns I've collected (from cutting them off because they were growing into the sheep's head or simply broken off), were all hollow as well as very thin and thus unsuitable for knife handles. I really like how horn looks on a knife. I have a small SAK (Victorinox Bijou) from the 1960s with it, and it looks really good. As I understand, they used cow horn.

Interesting, too thin huh? Wonder if it's another breed since there are all kinds of knives out there with rams horn handles. Don't know what kind of sheep they come from, but you can see ridges and wavy grain. Thanks.

Hmmm...if something is occupying an empty or vacant pocket, is said pocket actually empty or vacant??? ::hmm:: ::hmm::

::poke:: :wink:

Stockmans are my preferred, and that one is a fine example!

The handles are cattle bone. They have been polished smooth and are about 3 3/4” long.
