2007 Case XX 8220 SS Peanut Diamond Handle

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

If you don't get a response, may I suggest you send that photo to Shepherd Hills Cutlery. If anyone can tell you what that is, they can.

I just heard back from Shepherd Hills Cutlery. This was their reply:

"This is from 2007. The Yellow Synthetic Peanut is a Standard Product and in 2009 had a retail of $30. Generally speaking adding the artwork and serial number to a knife adds $10-$15 in its cost. Because this knife with the artwork was never part of the Case line up we don't have any records of its value or who had it made. It was either a Special Factory Order or an aftermarket knife. Sorry, we couldn't help more."

Is the knife stamped 8220? The title of the post says 8220, but the Shepherd Hills response implies the knife originally had yellow synthetic handles, which would be 3220.

3220 makes sense as yellow synthetic handles is the least expensive knife Case makes, and what re-handlers typically buy to put replacement handles on. 8220 would be MOP handles, which is at the other end of the cost spectrum. Unlikely anyone would buy a pearl-handled knife and replace the pearl with whatever that is.

So is the thread title a mistake? ::shrug::

There is a new one on for sale at Amazon at this time. It is described as Yellow Delrin Celtic Maze Peanut 1/1000. There is also one with this same Celtic Maze pattern on a peanut described as White Corelon.
