Thank you. It's not a grapevine, it's a Manzanita Tree/Shrub. I have about 10 of these on my property, with new ones sprouting up everywhere. Those things that look like grapes are supposedly edible and taste like honey. I have not tried one yet and I don't believe I ever will. Except maybe in a survival situation. Here are pictures of 3 of the trees/shrubs.

You know, looking a the photos again I can see that the leaves are nothing at all like grape leaves. With you being in California and the fruit looking like grapes, I just thought grapes. Thank you for the clarification.

Very familiar flora! Where I grew up if you were out camping and built a campfire your wood sources were pretty much restricted to palo verde, mesquite, manzanita, and tumbleweeds. The saguaro leaves a woody "skeleton" when they die but it burns too fast. It was cattle country so you always had the occasional cow cookie too. See? Now ya made me homesick.

This is not a knife picture, but it’s the refinished “Jeweler’s Cabinet” that I just completed for storing some of my knives. It was in bad shape and stored in the back of a country barn.

Refinished the wood with “Howard’s Restore & Finish”; cleaned and polished the brass latch and hingers; cleaned all porcelain drawer pulls; added the brass label holders; added royal blue felt to each drawers.
