Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

..RR, this was what my grandfather carried everyday!!!....I don't have his(sure wish I did), but I have managed to find 2 over the years like his. they are great knives!!...my grandfather whittled with his all the time!!!...... ...............

I checked yours out before pulling the trigger just to make sure this knife was legit. Wasn't sure about it being a 4 line stamp but I do see some of the "A." peeking out on the pen blade. Quite a formidable knife!

That would be pretty wild! This knife came out of an auction house in Longmont, CO.

I wonder how many of these were made? I don't see them in any knife reference books that I have.

..........the one my grandpa carried and one in the old wooden Camillus display in tupelo hardware co. back in the late '40's/early '50's are the only ones I ever remember seeing!!....we have a quarterly knife/gun show here and there's one gentleman always there who has a huge table with all brands of vintage knives. I noticed he had several old sunfish knives but no Camillus, and when I told him I had 2 he made me promise to bring them to the next show, which I did and he had a fit over them. I still have his name and phone no., he made me promise to call him first if I ever decided to sell them!!........... ........................

Rescued these two from my PO Box today. A Camillus 1047 & a Camillus "WHAT-A-KNIFE." This WHAT-A-KNIFE, has two blades and will go nicely with my other WHAT-A-KNIFE.

Very odd indeed. I've never seen a partial tang stamp like that before. I have a Camillus 72 that has no "main" tang stamp, but just has the pattern number "72" on the main blade. Factory error?

I think the jigging looks like a Steel Warrior from Frost but that's just my 2 cents.

edit* Looks to me like someone took a belt sander to the scales.

I just thought it odd that the bolsters weren't as worn but the bone scales were almost worn flat. BUT I'll go with what you guys think.

I think this knife was made from left over parts. Camillus did this a lot in the last years to use up dead inventory. The blade had a tang stamp of another brand, which was ground. Then, an tang etch was applied instead.

Found this one today at a local thrift for under $10, TL-29 with model number stamped on the rosewood handle, (I have another CC TL-29 without the handle stamp). Not sure of the age but I suspect it's from the 60's-70's, it should clean up nicely.
