Schrade "Kon-Kav" blade etch question

Can anyone tell me what years the Kon-Kav blade etch was applied? Got my eye on an 880 pattern and the seller states that this etch was only produced in 1950 to '51. I just wanted to verify this before I shelled out any $$.

Regardless of what Goins says, Schrade used that etch through the 70's on some patterns including the 881 with delrin handles. That can be verified by perusing Schrade older catalog sheets. I also distinctly remember the 881 since that was a knife that I lusted after in the mis 70's as a user...I remember that I thought the saber ground blade (what they referred to as KON KAV) was so cool looking...never did get one though.

Goin may have meant that they STARTEd using it in 1950-51, which would make sense.

Thanks for looking that up. I think it maight have stayed til 74 or 75.

I just hate to see someone make a purchasing decision based on bad info.

I have found LOTS of errors in knife books.

Thanks guys, I couldn't find any info on the matter. I pretty sure it's at least pre-'74 from the Schrade Walden tang stamp.

Found some pics in my archive! The ones with the plain background, are of my knife. Don't remember who owns the other one?? He got a nice shot of the etch though!
