Great snag Scott. It had never occurred to me that I had never seen a fixed blade Imperial.

And that 3.5" drop point blade is just about right for my use. I personally find I need nothing more than the average blade size on a Morakniv. Of course, I do have my 7" Kabar, but that's used for a lot heavier stuff, including chopping.TripleF wrote:Never seen this IMPERIAL fixed blade before.....jumped all over it!!

Scott, I have an Imperial fixed blade. It was in horrible condition when I got it, it was in a collection of 400 knives I bought a few years ago. It has a broken handle, which I am hoping to attempt to replace myself. I worked for weeks on the blade to get it shiny again and put a nice edge on it. It was the only one I have ever seen as well. It seems very well made, except for the handle which is a black plastic, not delrin. If I put a nice wooden handle on this, it will be an excellent user.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
This old Edward K Tryon Co Philadelphia, PA showed up. Looks about like original edge, full blades, unsharpened, still has some etch. Has some dings and dents like it was dropped more than once. And they let it get spots and corrosion, but the bones are impeccable and the snap and authority and feel of quality is unbelievable. Feels very solid. Tight as can be, smooth operating, swedge goes past the nick and over the peak, one side only. The stamp seems to say it was made between 1811 and 1952 from what I can tell. Guess they used the same stamp the whole time. Bummer, would be nice to be able to narrow it down. The transitions were not even attempted to be made flush, significant shoulder sticking out. Had an old F'n Rooster like that. Kind of makes the bone more pronounced and the fingers grip them more and not so much the bolster as on smooth transitions. And it retains more jigging and original bone. I like it. Seems to be a great piece, well made, good Rogers bone, sleek, narrow in the pocket with decent width and length blade. Dull as a butter knife though so will need some serious rubbing on the stone before it is really usable. But stole it for a price I couldn't believe so for the money can't go wrong. Like the WW2 era knives anyway and with condition as it is lucky to score it.

Thanks doglegg, another Buy It Now or Make Offer listing. Why pay asking price when they tell you up front to make an offer for less? Offered significantly less than asking price and he took it. Bingo. Couldn't believe the price, or the condition when it came. Better than it looked in pics. Thanks again, only had a few Tryon knives but every one impeccable.

Iman Great old knife. The handles the way they are fit around the bolsters remind of a old Remington.

Here are some that I just got, been busy and haven’t had time to take pics until today. First is a GEC 12 Aqua Camel bone. Then 2 Hen and Rooster knives from A.G. Russell and a pearl Hen and Rooster. I bought the first two from KJ or Roland, and he gave me the pearl H&R. Bless his heart.

I have the same Hen & Rooster [2nd from the top]. It is my understanding that this was the final knife produced before AG had to let the company go.

That sounds right. I’m very impressed with that one. It is a little deceptive looking. You wouldn’t think from looking at it that it’s such a tight and very fine knife, but it is. Plus it just feels great in hand, you can feel the quality.

Boy you hit the home run their Iman
Good for you!
You nailed it again QS
Great to hear you feelin' better Mark
Very nice knives knives at that
Mise well post the Queens again. Don't want to feel completely left out
Also yesterdays pickups was a little different. I picked up myself another guitar
I traded in my Epi Les Paul player pack for this beauty. She did her job. Best acoustic you can buy for $219 cnd. on the market, bar none. A Oscar Schmidt by Washborn dreadnought. Plays like a dream! Beautiful to. Cant see it until holding that the finish is clear red. Wood grain shows beautifully. Shes solid mahogany top, solid mahogany neck, laminated mahogany sides and back. Double bound with mop. Bound back with mop. Sound hole mop decoration. Sound is very full and deep. Again plays like a dream!
Family says she sounds wonderful.
I am happy to day!
God bless all!

Good score Willy, I've played old Gibson acoustics in the guitar shops and the sound is unbelievable. Aged like fine wine. Congrats.
