The new seller doesn’t even bother to take new pictures, and copied the original seller’s description almost verbatim. But now wants 3x what he paid for it. I’m a big fan of Stone’s knives and all in for making a reasonable profit, but..............
Just proves it’s not what you paid that counts, it’s what it’s worth. Hope he gets it.

About 10 years ago, a guy was selling his late father's collection on Ebay. Lots of nice knives. I bought a genuine Stone with sheath for like $130. Kept it a while, then sold it on consignment for about $300. Sometimes things are priced way under the market by the first seller.
The luckiest I got was a box of "junk knives lot 7" for $25 shipped. In that box was a little red George Schrade pull button automatic pen knife that was damn near %100. I immediately listed it as a single item and got an offer of $275.00 on the 3rd day. I was thrilled. Sometimes eBay does work in your favor. A lot of my eBay knife buys have been rather so-so.
I take alot of chances on ebay ... sometimes, they work out, sometimes they don't. For those that have wobble or weak snap not identified in the auction, I'll buff & sharpen them and take GOOD pictures so I can relist them (disclosing the deficiencies) ... with the hopes of just getting my money back.

I suppose it's their knife to do what they want with, but I still find it a little disappointing.
I think we have discussed a similar topic in regards to flipping of GEC small runs and SFO's. Now, that I don't think is fair, especially if a person never had a chance to buy one because they sold out quickly, then literally the same day as the sale or next, someone was flipping them at double or triple the retail cost.
I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with flipping. People do it all the time with knives and so many other things. I have done it. Nothing wrong with trying to make money honestly and as a bonus you get to experience more knives.
Flipping can be distasteful at times, like the situation with some of the desirable gec's or a situation like an old knife that is bought, cleaned heavily and wrongly advertised as mint with an inflated price. That kind of flipping leaves a bad taste in the mouth. In this particular instance I think it's pretty lousy for them to use the former sellers pictures to flip this knife, it also presents the question of whether they even have the knife or are they running a scam?

Something similiar is going on in the gun collecting world. Old 1911's from military surplus are being released to collectors finally and guess where they end up on the same day as the lucky person who "won one" ? Gunbroker at incredibly inflated prices.Sigh.
