ID this old Camillus Knife
Help me identify this old Camillus knife. Has the “Camillus 4” tang stamp. Blade is very loose. I have two of these that belonged to a great Uncle. I have looked but cannot find this style. What is the handle material?

I believe it is, thank you. He was a Dentist and made a Lt in the Navy to work on returning POW’s fin Miami Bch. So it would make sense that it was a Navy rope knife. Thank you!!

Doc nailed it!
Those knives were many of the life rafts, there was at least one other design, but I think it was later on, at the end of the war or later.
The nice thing about this design was that if you dropped it you would probably not poke a hole in the raft.

There are a lot of these out there. Great knives in my opinion. Jigged wood handles and if you can find one in good condition you've got a great sailor's rope knife.
