Knife Slinger, Your Whittler has lots of appeal to me: the covers, ::tu:: and I really like the secondary blades which appear much more substantial than those found on many Whittlers.

Got my complete collection of these Rigid knives made by Canal Street made in 2007. Matching serial numbers and the prettiest knives in my collection.
Also bought this Henckels stag Congress. Bought it in a group of knives I am reselling. I couldn’t part with this one. I love Henckels and I love Congress’s.

All beautiful knives. The Henckels is outstanding. The stag looks to me as tho it may be Sambar. Any chance?

The seller didn’t know, but I’m thinking it is Sambar too.

Man alive beautiful set Mark!
All matching even... :shock:
Great work... ::tu::
I agree, that is one heck of a nice Henckel... ::nod:: It looks sandbar to me also... :wink:
:lol:
I had to throw that out! :D
I guess it is possible to be focused enough to build a nice set. I am thinking of my Queen 76's. I got 3 right now. Thinking of putting up some of my other knives to build this set. Sell or trade...which ones though... ::hmm::
I just got 2 of them in the mail today. Man i am in love with the 76 tang stamp! All i got is sellers pics. And they aren't that great, don't do the knives justice. Well who cares, i got them both super cheap. Even cheaper than the 76' trapper. And these are big knives. Over 5" each. Something to grab on to. ::nod:: One is a #20, the other #62. $65 each... ::super_happy::
Happy today!!!

Yes they are awesome knives.
The toothpick has incredible walk, talk, snap, and pull for being made in 1969. No blade play whats so ever. The 62 is really good. Just needs a good cleaning, to soft close from 40 years of dirt and oil build up. Other than that they are new as the day the left the factory.

Thank you treefarmer... ::tu::
It takes lots of patience to find em'. But they pop up now and again. You just have to be quick. Funny thing is, these 2 were on the bay for a week and no one bid. One bid buys for me... :mrgreen:
Here is my other 76'. I paid more for this one, $85 total. Still cheap knife. I got "The Book" to go by... :mrgreen:
:lol:
Enjoy!

I already have it. Here it is. It’s very evenly matched. I noticed that first thing.

Willy those are some pretty sweet knives for that money. Nice find.

Thanks for posting this Mark. No way to prove it of course, but personally I am confident it is Sambar.

If not, it’s close enough for me. One of the best matched stag knives I have seen.

I got this today. Either a Buck or Schrade made for Sears. Excellent condition but for a small Nick that I've about worked out.

Received this beautiful Bulldog Cattle knife today from Sharpnshineyknives. Couldn't get the very fine MOP to photograph. But it has lots of fire.
More photos will go to the BD thread.

QS, I’m glad that one went to you. It is a special knife. Belongs in a collectors hands that can appreciate the heritage of Bulldog and that’s you.
Enjoy it more a lifetime.

The Craftsman above is not a Schrade. Likely made by Camillus.
The stag Henckels congress was likely made by Boker. It is not a Henckels made knife (i.e. pre 1960).

Here's a nice Cripple Creek that I got today. I think I'll keep it.
It was mentioned when I posted my Western 531 so I posted a comparison photo.

Thanks for looking.

Nice Joe, that looks like one of the original Bob Cargill CC's.

Thanks very much, guys. I'm glad you like this knife. It is a real hand full and a real working knife.
I am impressed with it in a big way. A great pattern design.

Paul, I think the CCC knives were before 1981. I could be mistaken on that. This one is 1983 and has no such markings as to Cargill's
early original work.
Thank you.

Man, that is sure nicely matched stag ::nod:: . Great find!
Thank you mark ::tu:: . Yes i am super happy with 69' queens. On the hunt now, if you come across some nice ones, i'll trade you the Winchesters for them. There are a few on the bay right now if you want to have a peek.

That is one heck of a CC ::tu:: . Dad has one of their sowbelly's in that handle material. It is some nice stuff ::nod:: . Do you know what it is called? If i can remember correctly (which i can't :mrgreen: ) they called it honey jigged bone. Or blond jigged. Who knows ::shrug:: . All i know is they are very nice knives.
Great find ::tu::
