Is there an online resource that gives descriptions of Caae folding knives? I've a couple hundred, most new in the original box to sell, but I would like to accurately describe them in the posts.

Have you tried clicking on the "Research" tab at the top of this page? Lots of Case info there.

Unfortunately Case College is no longer available without paying to join the Case Collector's Club. However, this site's lists of Case patterns by number and by name are good. The lists here do not include all recently made variations but, at least while it was available to the average Joe, Case College's lists did not have everything either. Being able to cross reference the two sources helped.

I don’t think paying to join the Case Collectors Club has anything to do with it. Case College went away when Case redesigned their website. As a Life Member of the Case Collectors Club, if the members have access to Case College somewhere, I don’t know of it. Several members have asked about it, and other features of the old web site that weren’t included with advent of the new site. Case has said that as time and programming resources permit some of the missing features will be recreated (and some have been). So far Case College hasn’t re-appeared.

The main benefit from being a member IMHO is access to the member forum and the cumulative knowledge of its members (including several Case employees), the quarterly magazine, and product catalogs.

A few of my Case Selects still have invitations to join Case Collectors' Club free for a year offers in their boxes. The trouble is I can't expect the current owners of Case to honor over 20 year old offers. On the other hand, a manufacturer not letting their best customers look at information on their products is at best a bad business model.

On the good side Case has increased the number of patterns and side cover variations of knives with CV blades. Despite extra hard stainless blades that retain an edge longer technically being better the two knives on my person at the moment have great granddad's carbon blades. The market for such knives will never die off.

Have you asked Case if the one year offer is still good? If not you can email them at consumer-relations@wrcase.com. Worst that can happen is they tell you "no".

Still hoping Case College will be reinstated at some point (even though most of the same information is readily available elsewhere). Meanwhile if you haven't done so already, take a look at Case's new Web site http://www.caseknives.com.

I agree about CV blades - I rarely buy, and don't carry, anything else.
