Schrade 787?
This is an older knife and has some writing on the base of the blade "Schrade, NY USA, 787". Would like to know age and model value. On the handle is "Improved Muskrat". Any information on production or history would be helpful.

Re: Schrade 787?
Your 787 falls somewhere between 1974 and 1983. If it was before 1974, it would have a SCHRADE WALDEN stamp. Mfg stopped on this one in 1983. There could be variations to the stamp, like 787 on the back (would indicate older within the range), or SCHRADE USA with no NY (would indicate younger). I've only seen SCHRADE WALDEN and SCHRADE NY on the 787 IMPROVED MUSKRAT. Schrade stamping was not consistent between patterns.

Welcome to AAPK Slae.
thawk is correct on his info.
You might post a pic of the knife; it would help in determining the value.
The 787 is one of my favorite patterns. It goes all the way back to 1953 when it first appeared in the Schrade Walden catalogs. There was a Wonda-Edge version made in 1957 & 1958.
