Stumped by Makers Mark can anyone help

I got this old knife with a makers mark of WALTER in a rectangle and I am unable to find any info on it. the knife is a really neat old musket figural with propelling pencil. Not much info on these oldies so I though I should ask in here if anyone's herd of them before my guess is it's a Sheffield maker.

Goins#2 has walter bros and walter co. listed as german early 1900s...no pic.

that's interesting so it might be German and not from England at all hmm , I would like to find a mark the same but these things do take time finding the right info. I did read today that these were made in England and Germany so I think your on to something thanks I will keep researching for now.

I know this is not helpful info but I'll share it in hopes of making you smile.

I actually had a friend a few years back that would get stumped by Makers Mark almost every single weekend. :D
For the record, he's all better now.
