Springbrook Knife Co Warranted 5 1/2" c1893-1920 a trademark used by Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden. Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden was a large wholesaler in California. This knife looks like a New York Knife Walden made knife to me. What is your opinion?

yeah, probably new york knife co. brl 3 states pocket knives made by new york knife. very cool old knife.

Nice example stockman! very similar to the NYK folding hunter. Here is a pic of mine to show the similarity, blade is a bit worn though.

Goin’s lists Springbrook Knife Co. as a trademark used by Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden circa 1893-1920.

I happen to have a repro of their catalog circa 1918. They list a lot of Hammer Brand knives (then Hammer Brand was a New York Brand….long before Imperial got the name).

I thought you might be interested to see your knife listed there as a Hammer Brand, though not as a Springbrook. At least it does show their connection to NYK. I also copied their info on Hammer Brand knives, (I included the scissor info just because).
