new knife book

Post by alabama »

bought a copy of Richard Langstons new self published (with help from aapk) book..off ebay.....KNIVES OF THE HUDSON VALLEY....thin but high quality....full of information and manufacturer history covering 160 years...not like other knife books you may have...look up ORANGE CUTLERY in your Goins book...from well known to obscure its worth the price...give it a read....

you can read the whole book in short amount of time but it gives a unique look into knife industry...by a man that lived there all his life and talked to the people that lived it... like the schrade-ixl story...I too have one orange cut. knife...all metal lobster...worn master blade...

Here’s a thread about the book. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58593&hilit=Hudson AAPK Gold Premium subscription members received a copy several months ago courtesy of Bryan. Lots of good info in it. ::tu::

Yes, it’s a Gold membership. It’s my understanding the books were mailed to members having a current gold membership at the time they were mailed out. ::shrug::

I have been a gold member since the memberships were instituted, however, have not yet received a copy of the book. This is NOT a complaint, just a statement. The cost of shipping a book to Canada is quite high and I would not expect Bryan to use up at least half of my membership fees to ship me the book. I intend to buy a copy, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I am hoping I may come across one at the OKCA show next weekend.
