I am thinking more like $150 > $165; am I to low? I don't really care for the wood; I have a Redbone and plan to rehandle the wood with Mammoth Tooth. Thanks.

they did not etch before 1973. parker's says $125 for mint. they sell for less than that.

No, But I see he has a "First Generation Tobacco King for sale". With 440C by the way. NOT!

It's NOT a TRUE first Generation AND it is carbon steel AND not 440C. Looking at that one auction will shy me away forever. I have seen him buy Bulldogs and due to his statements in that one auction, I don't trust him.

Read that auction carefully! It says sold as is - AS PICTURED! I take it to mean if you don't see a problem and then find one after buying it too bad. I stay away from sellers like that. I don't know the knife or seller, but listen to his words in the auctions for the Case Elephant Toe and the Bulldog Tobacco King - I don't trust him at all just by reading those 2 auctions.

I never delt with seller, but you can bet he knows more about the knife than he is telling. it is a shame e-bay does not crack down on this type of discription. e-bay always sides with the sellers. I am puzzled by this knife; The tang stamp indicates 1965-1969, with a parker value of $175. But if Johnnie is right about the blade etch I am at a loss. Could a dot or two have been polished away? Anyway it is still a nice knife, Elephant toes are one of my favorites.

On the 6250 pattern, the dots often "hid" under the bolster. This knife is definitely from 1974 to 1979 based on the shield and on the blade etch. Since the dots are not visible (hidden by the bolster) it may be a later one with fewer dots (1 dot to 4 dot).
