When I got home from work I had to search for it but I think you'll like it.
Looking for the magic penny!

The big trapper is a 43 and features my favorite bone from all of last year's GEC runs, smooth orange camel bone. Thanks for the kind words.geocash wrote:That's beautiful bone on that 74, or I assume it's bone & I believe it's a 74. I'm sure about the beautiful part, though.
Good selection of hard-working knives there. Is the orange Spydy a Delica?garddogg56 wrote:These were with me at work this week and really earned me a pay checkjust stroped'em on the Carhartts stayed sharp for nine stress-cones
Today I carried three "firsts" - my first OHO/modern folder, my first Rogers bone knife, and my first Case Barlow (which was something like my 2nd or 3rd Case overall).

Everything's better with a Barlow

Pot luck with friends so wanted something pretty. Light duty for cutting and heavy on the looking.

QS, that is some of the nicest stag of any recent Case vintage that I've seen. Knobby and full of character. Great Barlow!
geocash, that late 70s-early 80s pre-Parker era multi-hued Case brown bone is one of the most consistently underrated styles of all, IMO. Your 109X is a great example.
). There's a bit of lock rock - nothing unsafe or distracting - and a tiny bit of side-side wobble but, considering the price, it is a solid and sharp hard-use utility cutter that ticks a lot of boxes. I unretired it after stumbling across it in an old box from my last move.
Stag Saturday and a couple antlers I've neglected recently. If the weather stays nice I plan on setting up on the porch, oiling some users, and knocking out a couple hundred pages in the Kindle app.

I was a kneophyte when I bought the 47OT - why spend so much for a knife when the box stores have cheap ones with shiny blades??? - but I did get lucky enough to end up with a late USA Schrade instead of some Pacific Rim job (so to speakgarddogg56 wrote:Ya Tony in VG10.bet that old Oldtimers a handful, good steel never rust, great glove knife .I keep one in the skiddah

Ivoryman, really beautiful bone you were carrying to the potluck.
Tony, I agree with you on QS's stag Case Barlow & now I look at the bone on my little Case Copperlock a little differently, meaning I like it even more.
There's about a dozen cool knives between your post & this one but I especially like your two stags - the Queen & the Rooster, a great pair - & garddogg56's Marble.

Bomba that's a cool Rooster. Love the shield placement.
Gdogg, very nice stag on the Sow Belly and the fixed. Great colors.
Sunknife very fine wood.
Royal cool looking RR.
Quick, great bolsters, like those. And Go Ducks, born a Duck fan, lived close, followed the teams, rooted for them and will today in the tourney.
Montana, stunner, love seeing your blades.
DM11 I like the pair, Old Schrade and Ulster, beautiful hues, the jigging, the saw cut. Mmmmnnnn. Don't see any modern bone like that.
geocash those have some fabulous stag, what year's the toothpick? Great antlers on those, of course I've said before that Canoe antler is fine. What a page of eye candy all, great pics and blades and good browsing to ya.

Recent Case stag has been ho-hum more often than not. My Damascus Barlow is a perfect example of snoozy stag, so it lives in a box. You found the cream of the crop, glad it's getting pocket time..Quick Steel wrote:doglegg, Tsar, geo: Thank you for your appreciation of the Case Stag. I thought it was a bit above the norm also.
Thanks, I am glad the Germans continue putting shields on their knobbiest, grooviest stag and I like the way this looks with the shield on the pillbuster end. This was my first user FR and it has proven to be more than a pretty face, too. The blades pop hairs.Ivoryman wrote:Bomba that's a cool Rooster. Love the shield placement.
Each time you show off that 14 my blood gets up because I had no idea it existed until you first posted it and I always feel a little envy. Sadness, too, knowing how much getting one on the aftermarket is gonna cost.
A little bit red today.
