Juni Joins Jarl

Last month i put my Fallkniven Jarl F.B. up for sale. To give some extra info on the special proprietary 3G steel i went to the Fallkniven website to create a link. While there i saw that the Juni, the small version of the Jarl was on sale for half price. Fallkniven does not often put knives on sale and the site showed they have 180 of them. It's small size, 5 3/4" OAL, did not attract buyers, but i like small, do-it-all knives, so for about $130 USD, i could not pass it up.
I removed Jarl (8 1/4" OAL) from the For Sale thread and felt relieved. I had not really wanted to sell it. Now Juni has arrived and i am thrilled.
Small, yes, but with strong stout steel and a hair poppin' convex edge, i could easily field dress a deer with this knife.
Both have a sturdy leather dangler style sheath with snap in retention.
What a great pair of knives.

What a wonderful pair of knives. I imagine that small one would be imminently useful.

Thanks Colonel. Yes it does give the feeling of being ready to do whatever and it is small enough for sheath to ride in a pocket.

Fantastic knives, I have a Jarl and have carried it many years. Sharpened out a chip in the 3G on stones and it has been good for some time. The sheath carries well also, out of the way with a backpack on. Nice to see the Juni, I always thought it would make a great small fixed blade. Thanks for sharing.

Montana, was the chip in the 3G blade well earned ? meaning it was dropped on a rock or something happened that the chip was 'understandable' ? Or should it really not have chipped ?
thanks, i always get something positive or useful from your posts. I think you have had a lot of 'knife experience'.

Thanks , much appreciated, the chip was my fault. It was not too big, but did take some time on the stones. I have read many folks thought the edge is chippy on 3G, but after removing some edge steel, it has held up great, stropping on CBN.

That little Juni is certainly a charming knife! I am tempted, but I do have a Ruana smokejumper and I did buy some other knives, and ....
