Came to work with nothing but the Barlow. About mid-morning a highly-anticipated shipment arrived. From the package to the pocket went the 82. Might not leave for a while, either...

Well, I'd be getting it out every ten or fifteen minutes just to look at it.

Trace, how do you like your 716?

I'm carrying this Holley today.
I love it. My collection is primarily stockman and I picked up the 716 kind of on a whim and couldn't be happier. It is a large hand filling knife but is very comfortable to use. The lockup is absolutely rock solid and the walk is by far the smoothest of any knife I own or have ever handled. Also the blades which are substantial are not overly thick which will make sharpening when necessary a straightforward job. Luckily mine was LNIB and as such still had the factory edge which with just a little light stropping was shaving sharp. I have read somewhere that this was a difficult knife for Camillus to get into production and then when they did it was challenging to get right. As far as I'm concerned they hit a grand slam.

Although I think they are somewhat overpriced on the auction site I will pick up another one when I can, maybe even one of the stag ones.

That's a nice 493, garddogg. USA or Solingen? That stockman has some of the nicest mother-of-toilet-seat I've seen, too. ::tu::

Yep, it came out a few times to stare at and grope. It's my first canvas micarta knife. Interesting tactile feel to it. The blade combination really makes this knife, though. Plus now I can keep my copperhead bone version nice and clean.

I sure like that red bone Case jack Charlie. What is the pattern on the one peeking outta the sheath? I'm barely able to make out the shield stamp which I think is K-bar.
Some good carry's by everyone pictured on this page today, don't see a single one I wouldn't be thrilled to own myself. ::tu::

I packed these 2 today. The ironwood 66 I sought out after being inspired by pics. of David's (Mr DM11) same model. And my osage moose pattern I just had to have because of my fondness for osage.
Good eye Greg! It's a Ka-bar mod. 1003 jumbo jack.

Those are both very cool and a little spooky. ::smirk:: Walrus teeth must be a lot harder than a block of wood. I take it you go through a good deal of Dremel bits?

Thanks Tony, acutally Walrus have ivory teeth so it's not enamel and more like a hard wood like Maple in hardness. I use wood bits, files, tools. Not bad to work with at all.

I have the ever present 82 dixie and along for the ride is a schrade cut 2563 3/4". The cut would have been an extremely nice knife when new. Though well used and probably in its 80's or 90's it's still solid as a rock, a testament to its high quality.
