Way to go, good for the boys, that should be fun for them, and you will become even cooler to them in a new way they will never forget. Making memories. I think they'll enjoy these around camp and where better to teach 'em knife safety.

Just arrived today. Another Moki Ares. Has the top notch fit and finish you would expect from all Seki made knives. See the second photo for an example of tight fit.

Almost hesitant to show this old knife when I see all the fine ones y'all have been picking up but I mentioned it in the thread, "It's in the mail", so here it is. It is a 3 3/4" PAL cattle knife that has full blades, the blades are stained but not pitted, like it has been sitting in someone's drawer for the last 65 years. It has 1/2 stops on all three blades, does the proverbial gator thing, it's a fingernail breaker and the handles don't appear to have any damage.
Wading around in the Bay, I spotted this one and kept going back and looking at it. Finally pulled the trigger with the thought at this price I can't be disappointed. Disappointment was 180 degrees from my mind when I opened the package today! This one is truly a HOK!

Don't hesitate, that is a great knife. I've grown fond of the old cattle knives as I think most of them, especially the ones without bone scales, when bought new were used and eventually used up and we're lucky to find good examples now.treefarmer wrote:Almost hesitant to show this old knife when I see all the fine ones y'all have been picking up but I mentioned it in the thread, "It's in the mail", so here it is. I ordered these Yellow "Plus" scales for my SAK Super Tinker and they arrived yesterday.
The Super Tinker isn't available in Yellow and the Plus scales have a third slot on them for a pen which is supplied with the scales.

You've seen this one before...but, I decided to make it my retirement gift. I don't do too many fixed blade knives; but, at just slightly over 6 1/4 inches OAL, and with the sheath...this is small enough, it will make it in to my EDC rotation. Stout Wharncliff blade and bone Barlow shaped handles.
Thanks Tony!!!!

My 2 newest acquisitions, an ironwood #66 calf roper I picked up a few weeks back and a jigged cherry #43 beaver tail. Very pleased with both.

Thanks doglegg, appreciate the compliment my friend. Yes I made them both but to be honest my leather crafting is pretty crude compared to most, but functional.doglegg wrote:sunknife wrote:My 2 newest acquisitions, an ironwood #66 calf roper I picked up a few weeks back and a jigged cherry #43 beaver tail.
