Wow fabulous bones on that Barlow Tsar B, and that TDrop aint bad either. Nobody's doing red bone like that Barlow these days. Lost art. And a serious beauty. Case needs to bring those babies back for some current runs.

If Case were running smooth or sawcut chestnut bone Barlows right now I would be broke as a joke and deeeeeeeep in debt, my friend.Ivoryman wrote:Wow fabulous bones on that Barlow Tsar B, and that TDrop aint bad either. I do think I will try to "bring sexy back" by totin' the 10-dot 6143 more often. A previous owner managed to scratch up the blade enough to eliminate any chance of it being a safe queen, and the beauty of the bone really should be shown off. Also, this is Lennie of the Lennie & George combo (George is the 10-dot standard Barlow I carry fairly regularly). I don't want to risk a giant like Lennie getting upset...
Here are Rocky and Mugsy. Yes, these are different knives.

Bomba, wow those 70s red bones. Mmmmmmmnnnnnnnnn. Everyone of those is fine, great pieces.
Slinger I keep wondering how come that 82 looks so much better than all the others I see. Now I see your bolsters are polished up. Guess that's what you meant when you worked it over and it really looks good. Curious what grit you started out on and what you took it down to and what you use to buff it up at the end? Sharp looker anyway, now it's even better.
Woodwalker those are what I'm talking about. Good splotchy, variable, deep color. Very nice and congrats on that one.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Fabulous to see all the knives on the last few pages. Truly enjoyable. Thanks all for posting. BHomer long time no see, great to see ya again amigo, that's a sleek looker, ball bearing huh? Hhmmmmmm. Modern technology. Old school for me today, sorry to bore you with nothing new, primitive old technology, old tired worn bones, carbon steel. 1941-46 edition Camillus. Helped trim a little dead wood on the Japanese Maple, cut up an avocado, sliced up a bell pepper, opened a box. caused me to smile and run my fingers over it and check out all the different little color hues there are going on around the bone. And the Rogers bone, oh my, looks so different in every light and changes colors on you throughout the day like some chameleon bone. Every inch is different. And I love the funky little random bumps and grooves in the jigging, not uniform patterns, and how it feels very smooth and warm to the touch but gives amazing grip and tactile sensory overload, and the smooth rounded ends have harmless bluntness that the handle shape affords. No poky anything while it rides your leg in the pocket. That's about it I think.

That Camillus is a real prize, I-Man. Glad it's getting some honest work when you're not CF&CE it.
My first Ratcliffe arrived from the venerable and highly talented Lansky1 yesterday. The man works fast and skillfully. What an outstanding and useful concept for a muskie mod! I see another one in my near future.
It's in the LFP today and this old and well-worn Bostwick Braun pen knife - which is still as tight and snappy as ever - is riding in the watch pocket.
Edit: The Benchmade is clipped to the RFP this week, and I'm including it because I seldom include my OHO/modern folder in pics...

Amen to you, and you know I know you're not a one genra knife guy. But now that one I can relate too. And may I say you have impeccable taste in the traditionals if you have that in your pocket and always a pleasure to see that one Big H.bighomer wrote:Preach it brother, preach it, this one is in the other pocket.

Thanks Bomba, really. And amen to you, the Ratcliffe really turns me on. Sweet knife there, congrats. Great work Lanskey. I have thought about that several times, just takes a while to hunt down a Muskrat to kill that really appeals to your tastes I would imagine. Don't want to take all that time and effort on one that isn't worthy of it. But I must confess ignorance on your acronym so i don't really get your drift. if you could please help me out would be appreciated. Thanks again. But yes, whatever I carry has to do whatever daily chores I need it to do. That's why it's on me, not just for jewelry. I use regularly. True addict. Not enough to have it sitting there looking beautiful. I gotta indulge, dose up every now and then throughout the day. Can't help myself. Zero willpower to resist.
