Saw this one in Palo Duro State Park in the panhandle of Texas.

Some friends at the feeder this morning.
Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, and a Junco.
A Nuthatch was flitting around, as well, but he's a "grab and gone" with the seed.

Nice! I had to Google Junco and Nuthatch...I'm not aware of seeing those around here.

DocB here's a White Breasted Nuthatch I photographed at my feeder just now.

Thanks Phil, I like those nuthatches. Not any in my neighbor hood but when we go to Washington state where my son lives I see them up there.

Dang Phil, you get the ones I keep looking for in vain. How about a few photos of House Finches? Haven't seen a one all year. In the past they were abundant.

With no "real" camera bird pics are difficult but this Cardinal flew in close enough yesterday while I was carving!!

A white crowned sparrow that show up at the feeder one day. The only time I saw him. Correct me if the ID is wrong. Thanks.

Here's a couple of photos of a Common Flicker that is anything but common here at my place. This bird appeared in my yard and stayed around harvesting earthworms for about an hour. I have not seen him before or since.

Couple of Mourning Dove pics. I have several pairs that nest in the evergreen trees in my yard.

Phil, that flicker is awesome, wish they were around here. The morning doves on the other hand are around here. I have seen morning doves, white winged doves and for a while an Aztec dove at my feeder. That one of yours sure had it's craw full.

I’m really enjoying seeing all these birds ...

Phil - That Flicker is cool - we have Northern Flickers up here and lots of pileated woodpeckers which are big - they can be 16” - I think I have a photo somewhere ...

They call me the “ owl whisperer” here - saw this owl 2 days in a row but different places on the property.. yesterday I pulled up to the house and saw him land right in front of me... this photo isn’t great but see if you can find him - center of picture ... in the winter they really blend in with the background though you always got to look closely ..

Do any of you have experience with Purple Finches? If so, kindly take a look at Phil's photos. I had identified all the birds as House Finches. But I am having second thoughts about one bird. Looking at the bottom two photos in the series note the upper bird in the frame. Could this be a Purple Finch? What do you think?

QS - we have them here in the warmer months... the bird you note is definitely a purple finch - I just double checked in my handy bird book .... The purple in all head feathers was the biggest difference as the common finch feathers are along the sides of the head - at least that is how I see it ....

Well since you asked doglegg ... just found this one from Dec 2017 and again right in backyard - though our backyard etc is surrounded by 65 acres of preserved land.... the owls amaze me sometimes how they don’t really take off when they see me... anyway some of these are from my phone so not the best photos...
