Schlemper

Post by FRJ »

Schlemper, is the only stamp on this knife and it is on the main blade.

It is a well made knife with three springs and 6 blades. I think the blades are carbon.
I see remnants of pitting and some buffing. Nickel silver liners and pins.
The springs might be stainless steel. I can't say for sure. 3 5/8" closed.
My Levine's 3rd edition doesn't mention this name. Goin's does but no other information.

I would like more information if you can offer it.

Thanks for looking.

Good question, Charlie.
This is not where I intended to post this thread.
When I originally hit submit a page appeared that said there was a disconnect or something like that.
I connected back to AAPK and thought I lost the post. I used the reverse arrow to get me back to the post
and found it again and hit submit again and successfully posted the thread not realizing I was in the off topic forum.

Other than that it's been a lovely parade. ::cb::

Initially I was in General Knife Discussion.

By the way, what do you think of the knife?

Anthony Carter's book list 3 "Schlemper" as manufacturers of knives or knife parts, all in Solingen.
C.A.Schlemper 1900-1980's knife maker and drop forge making of knife blades
Emil Schlemper : 1908-2013 mostly scissors and shears.
Hugo Schlemper & Co. : 1907 - ?? specialized in making pocket knives, logo "S" on a black circle

That is all he gives. Likely Hugo and a small manufacturer or Carter would have had more extensive information.
