Old Winchester Congress 4902

Post by dodgin2 »

I recently purchased an old knife lot and there was a 4 1/4" old Winchester 4-blade Congress in it. I found a new reproduction 4902 but can't find a listing for an old one in any of my knife books. Can anyone stir me in the right direction. Thanks, Ben

I have a winchester book of their old catalogs and will check in there for your knife when I get home.

Here’s what I found. The book I have is a compilation of reprints of Winchester catalog items of all kinds, not just knives. Unfortunately it doesn’t give the years of the originals. Maybe Paul will have better info.

I don't have a 4902 in my book. This is what I'm using by the way, it's a collection of their 1931 catalogs of various sporting products, including knives and guns.

Some of the earlier Jim Sargent books had a Winchester section. I think they were dropped in later editions.

I have all of them. Jim did not include a 4902.
