WOW Cal!
Nice knife. I would need that compass if I owned that thing.
I'd be all "cattywaumpus".

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I don’t buy fixed blades very often. Saw this one listed last week here on the “for sale or trade” and just couldn’t move fast enough. Seki made knives are where my heart is when it comes to collecting. This one was made by Master Hattori for Beretta and was designed by R.W. Loveless. Fit and finish are impeccable. The Chinese Quince is beautiful, my first Quince wood knife, and has a very tight grain. The full tang is tapered for balance. It never ceases to amaze me how they get everything cut and finished when they do this tapering, that isn’t the easiest thing to accomplish.
The knife needed, and still needs, a little polishing w/ Simichrome and it will look almost as good as new.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Thanks Doc. It wasn’t a planned purchase but when you see something you recognize and know the origin and the quality, it’s pretty easy to justify. Way too easy to justify.Doc B wrote:Have to admit...my heart beat went up a bit, when I saw it...I thought about it...but with retirement looming...gonna have to control the urgesSharpnshinyknives wrote:I don’t buy fixed blades very often. I have to say that knife caused some thought on my part as well. Absolutely beautiful. A lot of facets to its beauty.

I haven't shown this favorite Scandi of mine for a couple of years I think. This PUUKA was made by Thomas Lofgren. The blade is Damascus. Handle is composed of fossilized ivory with malachite and stabilized birch. The sheath is hand tooled leather.

Very nice knife, Quick Steel. I would love to see the whole knife.

10 1/4". 6 1/8" blade.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Some really beautiful knives being posted here;thanks to all who posted them.
This one I bought awhile back from a friend of mine who owns an antique(?)shop called,"FleaBay".He and his wife always have something interesting although not necessarily knife related there.
It was missing the sharpening steel which by some good fortune I managed to find one of the appropriate size to fit.
Made by a Danish company called,"Erling Vangdegal" it is of extremely high quality.

Interesting knife k7k. I like the inletting of the handles. Is that wire thread on the sheath? It's shiny is why I ask. Looks very stout and well made.
