Schrade Uncle Henry 885UH

Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well and staying warm.
Just a question..is a USA made Schrade Uncle Henry 885UH used, but in good condition a rare knife?
Haven't seen many, but wondered oh good a seller it might be.

Early in the morning it's been mighty cool here in the Florida Panhandle, 2 mornings in a row with frost! It does get colder but not too often.

I noticed about 20 of the 885UH USA on one page of ebay, one of the AAPK dealers has 5 for sale. I've never had an 885UH, was impressed years ago by the warranty Schrade had on the Uncle Henry knives. The prices are all over the page. Not much of an advisor on sales but I've always heard buy low, sell high.

There were many 885's made from 1970 until closing in 2004. They are pretty easy to find in minty condition so I would not say they are rare. They do seem to bring decent prices in minty condition but they still aren't all that valuable. The walden 885's are a little more scarce, but I can think of many other schrades that are much harder than that to find.

The 885UH is a good 4 inch Schrade Stockman pattern. Aside from the handles and the blade steel it's really just an Uncle Henry version of the 8OT probably the most enduring Stockman pattern Schrade made. They introduced the 8OT in 1960 and it was produced until they closed in 2004.
The 885UH was introduced in 1970 and it was produced until the closing 2004. The Uncle Henry has the typical Uncle Henry Staglon handles and the 8OT as the sawcut Delrin handles. The Old Timers were mostly made with carbon steel blades all the Uncle Henrys or usually made with stainless steel.
Those two differences are about the only difference is between the two patterns. Both patterns were made in the millions, so there are lots of used ones out there, there are even lots of new ones still in the original boxes. If you don't have to have a brand-new pristine knife, there are lots of deals to be had on used 885UHs, just a little bit of patience and keep an eye on eBay.

Thanks everyone. Just looking for a nice knife, not too big or costly with a little $$ my dad left me.
I got his old Winchester bone handle cattleman? knife. I think it was his dad. And a yellow handle schrade trapper in a plastic sleeve but wanted to pick out a descent knife for EDC from him.
