I suppose most of us have a doctored, or outright counterfeit knife. So what do you to keep it from going back into the market. My counterfeit is a well made congress Jack with Sheepsfoot master.Nice pretty knife, just not a true oldie. I would like to hear some answers but it is to nice to destroy. What do you think.

USE IT, carry it and use it. hard to carry and use a real collectable.but you can't hurt what you ain't got. what better way to decide what to carry and use.... :mrgreen: ::nod:: >>>>TC

I agree if you like it carry it :) Wear it out and then it will never come back into the market :mrgreen:

I'd etch my name in it and carry it proudly. I'd dress it up proud with all the things you would not do with the real McCoy. Filework, bolster work maybe have Mike Pardue engrave it. I would etch my name on it so it could never be passed off as a real one. I have 4 tobacco kings by Bulldog that are not the real deal, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee. There are a lot of them out there, I also have a REAL SET. With all the custom work, the fakes will likely sell for more. How often do you get to see a nice well done sowbelly as these 4 I'm speaking of are, 3-5/8 actually. Make them with materials that were never used on them origially, I'm thinking pearl and my name and mark prominently etched. Any reason not to? ::tu:: ::tu:: They never used pearl on these guys, so, why not! Carry bling - serious bling!

What they said :D Custom that sucker! Make everyone envious of your fake when you whip it out to do some menial cutting task at the office.

*disclaimer*
I don't own anything fancy or collectible in the grand sense of the word, so the worst thing I could do if I completely destroy a knife is be out 25ish dollars and a few (dozen) hours of enjoyable work.

Thanks for your ideas. I would never have thought of dressing it up. This will give me something to think about and possibly try. Thanks again for your opinions.
