North Star Blade Collectors batch for today. I nabbed these. You should have seen the ones that got away. The big lockback is a Khyber with a pocket lap pocket sharpener and Micardia scales with a nice sheath, the stag swing guard lockback is a J.Fenton Sheffield (no England), fancy Eureka jack is a New York knife, the ivory whittler is also NYK, and finally the little bone sleeveboard is a Marshall Wells. I'm hauling the big Khyber to work on Monday. The rest are officially safe queens. ____Dave

Guys,
I am doing a little show this weekend and picked up a few, some very decent. One that got omitted from the photos is a Case XX 05247 and it is in very nice condition.
Others are a scandinavian fixed blade, a very nice Browning, a pair of Bucks one fixed blade and one single blade lock back. One OTF (China), a couple of multi-tools, a couple of Gerbers, a Moore Maker, and a few others.
Check 'em out.

Here are today’s treasures. One, the Case, was a gift from Charlie while the Richards and the little gold Crest were both from an antique store down on Front Street in New Westminster. I’ve bought a few things from her before and somehow she magically turned a ten dollar knife and a fifteen dollar knife into two for $15. Good score for me, good business for her. I suspect I’m the only one that ever looks in her semi hidden knife bowl and yes, I will be back!

Today’s catch, fore and aft!
Four Richards, one cheapie Ridge Runner and a little silver plated watch fob. It has no marks.

I will probably look for another Mountie as this one seems a bit iffy. I think it’s going into protective custody until I find out if it’s got gas or just some age spots.

The Queen is to replace my poor outgassed specimen. I’ll hang onto the old one for sentimental reasons, but she’s been banished...wait, wouldn’t it be exiled?!..into an old cigarette tin.
Not a bad day’s hunting!

Thanks dog! At the bottom of the 2nd photo there is a big 'tool'. Any idea what that might be? I have been calling it a folding hatchet. There is only a 'bird-like' logo with the initials C & R. I have no clue about this.

That 69 is gorgeous Colonel. A really nice bone 69 is at the top of my grail list.

Thanks guys. The short line 69’s are a bit harder to come by. Most of them are long lines. I thought I only had one more of these, but going through them I found another short line bone 69. That makes three now. Or maybe they’re multiplying. Yep, that’s my story.

Thanks, Wade. You know me. I am pretty much a fan of the traditional knife. I have a lot of learning to do. Truth is, I don't even know which one is a Griptillan.

It's been a long time since I made it to an antiques fair. Got out and did some scrounging today. Unfortunately the gold bolstered IXL Wostemholn congress with a broken blade was priced too high since they were being greedy about the gold but I picked up these knives and a coule of bags full of tools and replacement handles for all my tool heads.

Wow! I rarely find any pocket knives at antique fairs (last time I went to one, there was a guy who had a bunch of Scout knives, at fair prices, so I bought a couple), let alone ones that aren't overpriced, broken junk (just because it's "antique"). Yet you've found a lot of rarities in good shape (at least compared to the junk I usually see locally), including some I never see.

Couple questions, is the top right one of those that folds out to a rule? And what is the mark on the metal scaled British Army pattern?

The top right one is a ruler knife made with a Chesterman ruler and the metal scaled military pattern is a Singleton & Priestman. I's smaller than the military ones though.

On a three day road trip. Stopped in at a Pawn & Gun in a small town I was passing through yesterday, bought a Case Changer. No instructions in the old box, gotta figure out how to change the blades. Two blades are marked 1985 and two are 1986. The Clip must’ve been the previous owners user blade, dull as a butterknife! OH

OH, I have a couple of them. I'm sure you figured out the changing blades by now. One of mine has a blade that's from a year older. I suspect Case used up blades and wasn't worried about the numbers not matching. I really like them and intended to carry mine but never have.____Dave
