EDC belt sheath for trapper
A belt carry sheath idea I'm working on for the larger size folders/pocket knives. This is an RWB prototype. What do you think?

Agreed, kinda cool. However, I don't see the need for a flap.I carry my trapper in a simple pouch sheath.

The button down flap is for insurance. I realize it may not appeal to everybody, but I've lost knives ( and other belt carried tools) for not having them fastened in. I can also invision a "friction fit" type sheath that would be nice to make as well.

Looks like you did a good job on the construction of it. If you like belt sheaths it ought to work.
Personally I never could stand them myself. They never were in the right spot, or they were clumsy to get to, or just plain uncomfortable. For me, reaching in my pocket was always faster. But then again, I wear loose britches or overalls so a knife in the pocket never bothered me. I usually carry a 6375ish sized knife unless I decide to go for the elephant toe!

I'm a "sheath guy" and I like the flap. I don't like things in my pockets and I don't like losing knives. Nice job!

Looks good! If you do a friction sheath, which you mentioned in your second post, be sure and post pictures of it.

Here are 2 versions. A friction fit and a button down flap. These fit a 4 1/8in. Trapper or comparable knife. I could use a snap for the button down but I like a leather button. Not everybody would but it could be either way. For some reason the photo loads upside down? Oh well.
