I do not understand "laziest white woman". Are there lazier women of color ? or ?? Just seems like an odd way for the dental staff to describe her.

Having lived with and assisted in trying to find treatment for a person with Borderline Personality Disorder I feel it is safe to say that it is also a disorder that does not improve to some degree with any type of treatment. I finally and sadly had to cut that person out of my life for good.

Per my previous post I got a personal call from the local Post Master to let me know what had happened with my package mentioned a couple of posts earlier. Long convoluted explanation but it boiled down to the package was located and out for delivery again. It was waiting for me when I went home for lunch.

Have to give the the Post Master credit though he not only resolved the issue but gave me his direct phone number and said to call if I had any issues in the future.

Rotten the Post Master you describe is the opposite of the "laziest" described by just bob. I bet the post master has a big influence on how well the system works. One like rotten describes likely takes pride in making sure every piece of mail going through his 'station' is headed in the correct direction. If all post masters were like that USPS would be super efficient.

I used 2 different USPS locations for mailing when I lived in TX. In one the employees all seemed lazy and disgruntled. They would never scan in a pre-paid package I was mailing. Whenever I asked for a package to be scanned in I was told "we aren't supposed to do that". I responded then I would have no proof you ever accepted the package and the response was that my receipt was proof enough. I do know if a package was ever lost and not scanned in that I wouldn't have a leg to stand on for proof they had lost it. At one time I was having some problems with my scale and I asked if the employee would verify the weight of the package so I could check it against my scale. I was told "we aren't supposed to do that" even though the package was on the scale at the time. When I was having a problem with the route person not delivering any insured packages I complained to the postmaster he told me I should take a picture of the route employee "not delivering the mail" as proof. At that time I thought that just a picture of my mailbox might be proof enough since no one was there delivering any mail. Ridiculous.

The difference of the way I was treated between the two offices was like night and day. I'm sure the attitude of the employees was a reflection of the postmasters at each office. Unfortunately all my delivered mail came from to P.O. where the attitudes sucked. Thankfully the P.O. I use now has friendly and helpful employees.

But there also is good USPS service. There is a package waiting for me at the Northport P.O. that just arrived today. It was mailed by Muskrat Man 48 hrs prior.
From a small town in Ohio to a village in N/E Washington state in 2 days is FAST !

Maybe they are catching up from the holiday crush. I normally get good service January through early November - then it gets real iffy. OH

I just had a USPS package delivered today (Sunday) and it was shipped First Class. It was expected to be delivered tomorrow. We have about 11 inches of snow on the ground and the roads in my neighborhood have not been plowed yet.

Sometimes USPS frustrates me and sometimes they amaze me. Today was obviously the latter.

Everyone here has their own personal list of USPS horror stories and I have a few of my own BUT consider this -- The United States Postal System delivers an average of 660 Million pieces of mail per DAY. That's not a typo. You saw it right. More than half a Billion each and every day. Considering that volume, I think they do a pretty good job even when it's my package that goes walk about.

I've only permanently lost two packages in my life. One got to the local post office and disappeared, never to be seen again. The other was stolen off my front porch and that could have been avoided. Both the postal carrier and I could have done something differently to avoid that incident.

I've got a minty ebony wood Case canoe thats stuck in a post office in my state on the last leg of delivery for over 4 days. Don't have a good feeling about this at all ... never ever has anything like this happened to me before.

UPDATE ...
- Wisconsin to Bethlehem, PA (an hours drive away from me) in 3 days. OK, thats about right - hoping for the "out for delivery" next day.
- Parked in Bethlehem for 8 days. I wrote it off and thought for sure it was lost forever.
- Then it decides to surface in Charlotte, NC +/- 500 miles south ... at least I know it's not in some USPS workers pocket already. Not counting on this one until I see it in my very own hand. Fingers crossed - USPS

Sheesh - what a fiasco ...
