Thanks KJ, it came much darker, but after sanding it down a little, it brought out the yellow underneath.

2018 pic review. Set out to make folders this last year. Pleased with the results, but looking forward to progressing from here.

Yeah, it's my equivalent of basket weaving to maintain sanity. ::rotflol:: I spend a lot of time in the bush, long walks with my canine muscle missile, camping, hunting, fishing, etc and I can't count the times I've needed a piece of light rope for something. I don't always carry a length of rope but I always have a knife or two on me. A para-cord fob or handle wrap can come in handy. One fob I made like this one ended up as a stringer when the fishing was way better than I'd expected.

Decided to go primitive on our walk this morning.

Muffin Head the mighty hunter kept trying to steal my knife so he could chew on the antler handle!

Thanks Tony!

The flint knife was made by a Native American craftsman in Utah. While I have made flint arrowheads and knives when teaching wilderness survival to Boy Scouts and young hunters, my knapping skills are not as refined as that.

His name is Trey but he has several nicknames like Muffin Head and The Canine Muscle Missile. 80 lbs of faithful pooch. He's a great dog! Sorry there's no knife in the pic....I'll work on that. ::rotflol::

Very nice stuff, Roofsc. I have never seen so many Case Mops in one photo.

Sunknife - just a few days ago I was looking at the frost on fallen leaves in my yard and thinking what a fine background it would make for a knife photo.

Tony, that is a very well composed photo with the bird band, knife, shot shell and bird. Just seeing that makes me feel like going hunting.

Mike - that GEC on the frost is a very cool photo. Seems like spotting a GEC that has actually been used enough to have a patina is unusual. Great photo and knife!

Thanks Mel, somehow I must have hit a enhanced feature button on the phones camera and it gave the frost a blue tone. ::shrug::

Great ones Roof, Sunknife, Mike that has love and history on it, is that the one you carried for a year straight, or someone else? Really like yellow with deep patina like that. Beautiful shots all. Here's another one. Bushwhacking. Northwoods was on me in tow.

Nice shots Ivoryman! Beautiful Northwoods!

Is that a Tramontina Machete? I can't quite make out the blade stamp.

I picked this one up recently....
