BSA knife. ULSTER my kind of treasure

hey guys i think i got the pic thing. here is what i consider my kind of treasure.im not a big BSA knife fan.or else i dint think i was until i got this knife.i have had all kinds of camper style knives.but never an official BSA,anyway i recently while fixing my bro-in-laws computer he had asked me if i wanted these two boxes{his parents both passed 2 months apart just recently} he new l liked knives and even old boxes.so he gave them to me.this house is for every type of collector.

one box in the basement had pics of his great grandfather in world war 1 getups and such.that was just a shoe box.AWESOME!!! anyway lets see if these pics work. the handle if it appears black is not.its actually a redish color. ANY TAKERS ON THE DATE OF THE KNIFE.if the tang pic shows up it an ulster obviously.the rewards that come when your not expecting anything at all are the best.

Good looking knife there, blade etch is still good. Are the handles bone or plastic? Knife definitely looks solid and well made.

Very nice find peterforce. It appears to be in very good condition. It has a relatively modern can opener so I will guestimate the origin 1950-70ish. I think the Ulster USA mark ceased in the early 70s. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable in this area will be along to help. s-k

i cant tell if plastic or bone.im fairly still new at this.i have a nce collection but am really just starting to actually learn.

Peter rub the handle on a tooth (your natural tooth,store teeth won't work) Plastic will slide smoothly. bone will feel rough. Perhaps a little practice with known material will give you a feel for this. It may not be sanitary but I've seen others do this. Hope this helps.

in with that was also a merkur bsa face razor at leeats 40+ years still in perfect shape if not older. didnt take pics though.that plus the bas was from an old home here in philadelphia.old homes here have been my jackpots lately to knives.most arent stored right but under the mess a lot of times lyes a nices one like that BSA! i just seen one just like it with craks in handles go for like 25$ on ebay. i have had a few 40-50$ offers but its my only official and i cant part with something i found in an old box stashed on the shelf of a basement nobodies cleaned for 60 yrs. i know their are some nice knife places out their.but here in philly we have a lot of old USA made knives all over the place.im posting a new topic right now with a couple more knives from same house.my friend keeps cleaning and every couple days he has more for me.its fun!!!!
