Is it just me...?

Post by Doc B »

Running a distant 2nd place, to the birth of Christ...I think Christmas is the most awesome time of the year for knife lovers. Getting to open packages...with a knife. Getting to help others open their presents...with a knife and finally, turning all the old boxes, in to perfect recyclables...with a knife.
Wishing y'all an exceptional Christmas and New Year!

One of my nephews whipped out his knife tonight at our Christmas gathering and I just had to tell him how proud of him that made me to see him packing one. His younger brother (a true outdoorsman) said he'd been the one who gave his brother that knife. That made me even more proud. ::nod::

Yep, I know what you mean. I got caught short opening a gift and my son of course had his big wood and brass china special in his pocket. We were out knife hunting the day he bought it.

In my defence, I as wearing a pocketless dress and my purse was in the hall with my coat.

I was the go to guy for one little 4 year old boy. Every time he had a present that needed a knife to open he came to me. He told me that my SAK had everything on it and I was more than happy to assist him at getting his presents free from their packaging. You know some of that packaging takes a bit more work to undo than it used to. I used two different blades the scissors and screwdriver before the day was done. :D
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Of course, I had a knife on me yesterday. I was also a proud uncle too. Our niece, who is around 18 years old, said she had here Case Peanut on her, that I had done for her 16th birthday. She was over at her grandparents house, and nobody had a knife on them to open packages except her. ::tu::

Good to hear about a well prepared girl! My future daughter in law has a very nice little folder that we got from Five Dollar Knife Guy as part of a three-for-$10 Special.
I think every woman should have some sort of blade tucked away in their purse or pocket. These days everything is packaged to death. We should be able to open our own stuff! Then there’s personal safety, but with proper training, of course.
