Popped my Cherry
About a month ago my dad gave me an old busted Camillus Scout 4 line. The main Blair was broken and the awl. It had some cool looking green Cell scales.
Any how I am just starting to get into knives. Mind you I have carried a knife every day for almost 50 years. And to think all that time, I never had to get into a knife fight.
Back to the story. I have paroozing the Forum and decided to see if I could maybe save this sorry thing. So I read many posts and dove in.
I think it turned out ok for my first attempt. I was able to find a doner 4 line with a good blade and awl. Everything else was toast on the doner. I had to shell out $5 for it.
Before and after pictures.

It was fun. I think I will do more in the future if I find something that tickles my fancy.

Good job, Tom. The repair/restore/customize bug starts out with a nibble. Amazing how satisfying it is to save an old knife isn’t it.

I will say. I need to set up a better work area. Then get some more tools. That is ALWAYS good.Landersknives wrote:Good job, Tom. The repair/restore/customize bug starts out with a nibble. Amazing how satisfying it is to save an old knife isn’t it.

Good jog on your first repair. That’s awesome.

Thank you all.
Now I can find old knives in need of love. Before I know it I will have a different EDC for ever day of the year.

Great save! That is one beautiful knife!
I, too have been carrying a pocket knife for most of my life, but only recently began working on them as a hobby. My first attempt wasn’t as pretty as yours, but I plan on trying more!
