Ulster name is owned by Taylor brands, and GEC in their early days did make some Schrades also a Taylor brand.I haven't seen one before, but doesn't surprise me.

That is definitely a GEC. I am not completely sure that Taylor owned the Ulster trademark. I think maybe that OP knife was sold through SMKW. I have one with a related trademark, also by GEC, and I bought it through SMKW in 2010.

Cal,I believe Taylor got all the Imperial-Schrade trademarks at the bankruptcy auction.tongueriver wrote:That is definitely a GEC. I am not completely sure that Taylor owned the Ulster trademark. It was my understanding that Taylor got all of the intellectual property that have been part of Imperial Schrade Corporation. The Ulster name would certainly have been part of that original intellectual property.peanut740 wrote:Cal,I believe Taylor got all the Imperial-Schrade trademarks at the bankruptcy auction.tongueriver wrote:That is definitely a GEC. I believe Taylor had pretty close ties with SMKW, so I could understand that he might have done a limited run under the Ulster brand for SMKW. It all sort of makes sense given their previous connections and business dealings.
