BOKER USA BONE CATTLE KNIFE
3 1/2 inches closed. Steel bolsters (maybe a WWII knife?). I have ordered the book but it isn't here yet! Blades are tiptop snappy. Someone has scuffed them up with steel wool or something. Definitely a little use but I don't see blade loss. Rich chestnut brown bone covers have one microscopic pin crack on each side at the ends. Micro dings, micro spider poop. A very solid knife. $60 shipped, slight loss to me. Thanks for looking!

Very nice Calvin. I particularly like the clip blade. Looks like a serious, strong 'worker'.
What do you mean by "slight loss to me" ?

I'm thinking it means he paid a bit more for that knife than the asking price, therefore he's taking a "slight loss" monetarily. That's my guess anyway.kootenay joe wrote:What do you mean by "slight loss to me" ?

Re: BOKER USA BONE CATTLE KNIFE
We are guessing until Calvin posts but $60 for that Cattle knife is a STEAL. Cattle pattern is one of most expensive, blades are full, bone is perfect, it is a USA knife. It is more like $150 or more knife. I think the 'slight loss' is Calvin making a little joke.

I paid a little more for it. I would not accept that price on ebay; I prefer to sell here to friends.kootenay joe wrote:I think the 'slight loss' is Calvin making a little joke.

Somebody needs to keep this one in the family.

Re: BOKER USA BONE CATTLE KNIFE
BEAUTIFUL cattle knife there
I'ma thinking around 1941-ish. Boker pretty much stopped making cattle knives by WW2, and that's about the time they started using the BOKER/USA tang stamp! Pretty jigged bone handles on that rascal too!
Yep, $60 is a steal.

Re: BOKER USA BONE CATTLE KNIFE
I did not realize this is the "For Sale" forum until now which is why i was confused by "slight loss". I am trying to have fewer knives so i likely will not buy it. But really $60 is too low for this knife. If it does not sell in next 24 hrs i think you should change the price to $100.

Spoken for. Who in the world ever came up with the abbreviation or acronym SPF for "spoken for"? That doesn't compute.Colonel26 wrote:PM sent

"sold pending funds"
Xactly ! a knife might be 'spoken for' but no payment sent. Hence 'sold pending funds' is accurate for the situation.
