Old W.R. Case & Sons

I was given this old knife years ago by my late grandfather. My father had it put up for me since I was rather young when it was handed down to me. My father passed in 1992 and I was recently going through some of his old keepsake boxes and came across this one once again. I do not know a whole lot about the older knives and would like to know it anyone knows anything at all about this style knife. I have added pictures below. Thanks in advance.

That is a nice example of a hawkbill (or pruning knife). Looks like it's had a touch to the grinder at sometime but otherwise a very nice example of a knife i've been after to add to my pruning knife collection. Knives with sentiment always mean more, and that old knife has character. Was made sometime prior to 1920.

muskrat man...Thanks so much for the information, it's greatly appreciated. I plan on passing this piece down to my son and have him to do the same. I am just getting into the "collecting" or actually exploring the pieces I have that use to belong to my father and grandfather. Once again, I greatly appreciate the information.
