Double fluted punch blades

Post by Jacknifeben »

I just found out that I have nine knives with Carmen punch blades. I have always called them double fluted punch blades. They were only found on NAPANOCH and Winchester knives until Jack Knife Ben contracted them to make some for his shop in Union stock yards in Chicago. Seven of my knives are from very early Jack Knife Ben and the top two of the five are Winchester.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I've not seen this style before.
As I've never owned a knife with a punch, I always look at them.

Nice lineup Jacknifeben ::tu:: ... these double fluted punches were shown on the Winchester/ Napanoch thread under Knife Lore where I first saw them not long ago... I assume these are all Cattle knives?? I would love to find a Winchester Harness Jack with one of these ::nod:: ...

Hello Jackknifeben
I have the same brown bone Winchester as you do.
Can you tell me if your secondary blade on that knife has a tang stamp?
Mine does not.
Thanks!
