doglegg,
Here's a little larger area of that background, disguised as another knife photo.
I guess at pocketknives, & of course I don't always get them right, so, with that in mind, I guess these are 500 to 1,500 years old shards of sand-tempered earthenware vessels that had complicated-stamp designs pressed into the surface before they were fired. I wasn't enjoying them in boxes so I glued some onto a felt-covered board. Maybe a few folks here will enjoy them, too. (I'm also trying to figure out this quote option thing. Never stop learning. Mainly because forgetting gets faster & faster.)

Re: Knife Photography
geocash, those are awesome. We have a few that a friend picked up around his deer stand in New Mexico. Some have those pressed designs and the rest are painted. Also the picture with all the knives is worth showing. I like those little fellows. Back to the pottery, I can imagine some Indian lady pressing those designs into the pottery. I also find it amazing that in the most primitive societies art and music always played an important part of everyday life.geocash wrote:doglegg wrote:Are those pottery shards that great looking knife is lying on?
