Tried to find Kelly's book - wait till you see this!

Post by dogngun »

I located 2 copies of the Ben Kelly's book on Pocket Knife repair at rare book dealers- the first, a 1995 paperback edition in pretty good
condition with creases and showing use listed for $845.

The second was slightly cheaper at a little over $600.

Time to re-release this book, I guess.

If you have a copy, I'd recommend taking great care of it and don't loan it out to somebody in a bar.
This makes me very happy to have access to all of your experience here and very appreciative of your willingness to share it.

WOW - that's just crazy....so, I've rescued my book from my workbench, blew off the dust and shavings - and put it on the top shelf, with my good bourbon.

$845 can't be a real price, can it?

Ya'll have GOT to be kidding...

I just bought a new copy last summer from AG Russell. Had to pay list price, tho'. $11.95 plus postage.

They don't list 'em in the catalog anymore, but if you call, the nice young lady will get you a copy. (Don't tell AG what they're worth !)

Are we talking about the same book ?

I don't mind the book increasing in value, but dad burn!
Now I will have to put a safe in my shop to lock it up in
& wash my hands every time I want to refer to the book!

This is crazy.
I guess I could memorize it & sell my copy.

I have a copy of Kelly's book.
Will trade for a good used 2 X 72 belt sander for grinding knives!

Who would have thought the book would ever be worth that???

Maybe I should photocopy mine and sell both. But this is illegal as all get out. Copyright is at least to the life of the author and in many places much longer. Such as 50 years to 100 years after the death of the author. NO, I'm the type that would get caught.
