Any Gerber collectors in our midst?

Post by Paladin »

Ok guys and girls, I could use a little help on this one. :D
Here is a mint Gerber fixed blade from the early 1980s. It is a model C300B. The ricasso is stamped with the Gerber logo, followed by GERBER (over) PORTLAND, OREGON. The back side is stamped with the pattern number MODEL 300C.
The blade is a 3 inch drop point and the handle is really nice stag. It is dead mint. The original sheath is similarly stamped but the pattern number used on the sheath is C300A. I believe that pattern is the same but with a less expensive handle.
This is an exceptional knife that has been packed away since being received.
Any ideas about value?
I checked eBay and didn't find much. :)

hey ray, in levine's 5th edition i found a gerber chronology with c300a, c300b stag handles - al mar designed, made 1979-1983. the sheath was probably used for several 300 series.
